This was the third time Ellie and Luke from Port Douglas visited me in Cairns so I could photograph them in an intimate and special setting. The only difference was that this time we’d been preparing for the session with something really very unique.
Ellie and Luke, excepting their baby’s arrival, decided on celebrating their gender reveal experience, where my task was to take photos of these exceptional moments. I was incredibly excited, because I needed to use a smoke bomb which played a very important role in the shooting. The colour of the smoke (blue or pink) revealed the baby’s gender, but before I activated the bomb, I had to open an envelope, in which I found the baby’s real gender. A GIRL. 🙂
A gender-reveal experience is typically held after the first trimester, but before the baby shower, when guests might wish to give gender-specific gifts.
I got my camera ready and activated the pink bomb, so Ellie and Luke could get to know the amazing news, their baby’s gender. Then the photo session started. It was such an emotional moment, even for me, that I could hardly hold back my tears. The parents were immensely happy and Ellie told me there were mainly boys in the family, and they’d hoped they would soon welcome a baby girl.
I can’t wait to take photos of her, as well, soon! Congratulations, Ellie and Luke!
